As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit– just as you were called to one hope when you were called– one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

“There is one body and one Spirit…”

The other morning, I was praying over the phone with my prayer partner Sister Regina McKinney, and as we are apt to do we had been praying over the course of an hour, before my foundational prayer time of 5am. Well normally she prays awhile and then I pray and then she prays and we go back and forth, however the Holy Spirit may move us, and during the course of her final term, I am bowed listening and responding to her prayer, and God says to me FACEBOOK CHURCH, and during the prayer I chuckle and think I know God hasn’t just said to me FACEBOOK CHURCH in answer to the direction I have been seeking for my ministry over the past couple of years, so as Regina is closing the prayer and I am mildly chuckling, thinking God you have jokes, God again says very sternly to me, FACEBOOK CHURCH! Now I tell Regina, God has just said to me FACEBOOK CHURCH! Now, we had been over the course of a few weeks, discussing how significant ministry was on Facebook, and had begun praying together to strengthen each others online ministries to folks, so we both began to chuckle at the thought of FACEBOOK CHURCH!

Well after this I did my normal foundational prayer routine before creating the prayer I do daily as The Prayer of the Day located at http://www.theprayeroftheday.com. Unable, to release this idea of FACEBOOK CHURCH, I received a Facebook inbox prayer request from Sister Gloria Elias for her daughter who was having surgery complications and thus I sent out a group message and entitled it FACEBOOK CHURCH Prayer Request and included recipients whom I noticed to be prayer warriors.

Well the response from the Saints in regards to the prayer request were powerful, we ended up with a positive praise report and thus, I preceded to Facebook and pulled up the Group creation page and began to create FACEBOOK CHURCH, found a blue cross graphic, and told Sister Regina I am posting the group FACEBOOK CHURCH. I was aware that the Holy Spirit was completely in charge and made the first 12 people including myself and Sister Regina administrators. As the Holy Spirit has led and others have requested to serve we have added another 12 or so admins, not that the position carries any special authority other than to insure that the site stays accessible to all saints.

Within the first 12 hours we had reached 200 registered users in the group. The order of the group is simple:

A gathering of the body of Christ under the direction of the Holy Spirit, please operate in decency & order. Post prayers, requests, prophesies, exhortations, sermons, videos, music, No merchandise, or service advertising.

After two weeks we are coming up to the threshhold of 2,000 registrates. The continued hope is that this can be a resource and fellowship for saints, to post sermons, prayers etc, and thereby edify the body of Christ across denominational and organizational lines. There is no head of FACEBOOK CHURCH other than the Holy Spirit, as Christ is the only head of His one true universal church. The Ascension gifts are free to operate as they were intended, the oversight ministry can provide consel, mentorship, and guidance as required an intended, as “Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. 26 But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. 27 For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. 28 You are those who have stood by me in my trials. 29 And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me, 30 so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” ” (NIV) Jesus expectation was for there to be an equality among believers unlike the institutions and organizations of the world. The foundation of the Church has already been laid by blood of Christ and the Apostles and Prophets and by the testimony of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, let us focus then on fullfilling the Great Commision “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV)

FACEBOOK CHURCH, well we no longer chuckle at the thought as we have seen people from all over the world make contributions of sermons, exhortations, prayers and requests, hymns, psalms, and praise and worship. God is doing His thing in the Body and we are seriously trying to accomodate His will and Way. We ask that if you are led by the Holy Spirit, please make a contribution of a sermon, prayer, request, praise report, or anything that may be uplifting to Christ and the saints. Also please help this group to grow by pointing your friends here, the body of Christ is strengthened by its diversity of ethnicity and gifts.

After all, “There is one body and one Spirit– just as you were called to one hope when you were called– one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
